Job Description

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

 

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the plant on the design, installation, maintenance and operation of equipment in the plant, primarily in the rotating category.  The Reliability Engineer is responsible for assessing rotating equipment deficiencies in order to improve the form and function of said equipment.  All tasks are to be in accordance within all applicable standards and are to support the plant in the manufacture and delivery of products to customers in a safe, environmentally conscious, economic and timely manner.

 

  • Actively promote plant initiatives, beginning with HSE.
  • Manages the plant vibration and lubrication programs.
  • Helps develop and leads implementation of company Equipment Strategies.
  • Serves as the project manager/engineer in the major rebuilds or repairs of critical plant rotating equipment.
  • Provides support for daily maintenance issues when needed.
  • Analyzes equipment metrics to identify bad actors and develops an improvement plan.
  • Works with project engineering to ensure new or modified equipment installations comply with the best practices for design, maintenance and overall reliability.
  • Supplements or backs up other plant roles and duties such as planning jobs, ordering parts and supervising crews.
  • Serves as leader for improvement teams in areas of responsibility.

 

Deliverables

  • RCFA reports and presentations for areas of responsibility.
  • Vibration program reports and metrics.
  • Lubrication program reports and metrics.
  • Rotating equipment MTBF metrics and others.
  • Implementation and evaluation of reliability indicators; timely communication of bad actors and recommended remedies.
  • Timely and comprehensive delivery of data and paperwork for maintenance and reliability recordkeeping.

 

Receivables

  • Clear definition of the Goals and Objectives for the plant.
  • Communication of Eco Services Strategy, Objectives and Targets.
  • Support in achieving Goals and Objectives by helping with resource availability and timely decision making with the larger issues.
  • Feedback on Business performance to ensure alignment and quick action if needed.
  • Feedback on Maintenance performance to ensure alignment and quick action if needed.
  • Feedback on Personal performance to ensure alignment, and quick action if needed.
  • Development of skills for future promotional opportunities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical manufacturing setting
